What is an MPO?

An MPO is a Member Political Organizer who is:

  • the union's political voice on the job; and
  • a rank-and-file leader who has committed to work on the union's political program by organizing other union members to engage in political action.

An MPO agrees:

  • to serve for a minimum of one year, during which time the MPO will agree to volunteer up to six (6) hours per month;
  • to assist the union in communicating with its members on political issues

  • to attend necessary trainings and meetings; and
  • to participate in other political activities, such as:
    • Voter registration
    • Fund-raising
    • Lobbying
    • Telephone banking
    • Turning out co-workers for activities

No experience necessary (we have MPO training). Just a willingness to be involved in the important work of politics so that it works for us. Sign up today to be an MPO!
